Hi.

I am Julia Palmeirao, although in my home country of Lithuania I am best known by my maiden name – Julija Dailidėnaitė. I am currently active as an independent art critic, art curator, art advisor, art event organiser, and art investment consultant. I am a member of the International Critics Association AICA. Since 2006 I have been actively involved in the field of Baltic culture. I have gained considerable experience working in galleries, art museums, art archives, and in the field of organizing events.

I graduated with a BA and MA in Art History, Theory and Criticism from Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts. During my career I have worked at the Lithuanian Artists’ Union, Vilnius Academy of Arts, and Modern Art Centre MO Museum. I am a founder of the non-profit organisation Contemporary Art Projects (VŠĮ Šiuolaikiniai meno projektai), which has been in operation since 2009. Contemporary Art Projects is dedicated to organizing art events and exhibitions, and participating in International Art Fairs, as well as promoting artists from the Nordic and Baltic regions. I am also the former organiser of a project dedicated to celebrating artists of the younger generation – The Young Painter Prize, which I co-founded in 2009. I organized and coordinated this project from its creation until the 15th edition in 2023.

This website is my portfolio. I am always delighted to share my passion for the works of our talented Nordic and Baltic artists, so I will always be on hand to answer any or your questions or provide you with insights.
